Stunning 1950’s black silk taffeta cocktail shirt style dress with a sharp collar and illusion open front with 10 covered buttons down the front and two tucks set at the shoulders creating vertical pleats down the front. The dress has short sleeves with eyelet (fabric cut out and edged with stitching, normally eye or tea shaped) work in a flower design all around the edge of the sleeve, there are also strong classic 1950’s shoulder pads to create a stronger silhouette. The skirt is a long pencil style to below the knee with a side split and then a fuller over skirt gathered into the waist with a diagonal floral eyelet hem, very Audrey Hepburn
