The dress is a classic princess seamed shift dress with an empire line bodice. The princess darts are tucked neatly to the front and the rear and there is an empire line bow to the front of the body. There is a centre zip fastening with the original metal zip and a small kick pleat at the back. The jacket is every bit as fitting as the dress and also has an empire line hem. It is double breasted and unfastens with two fabric covered buttons. Although the piece is unlabelled it is American made and in old money is a US size 9. We suspect this was made for a quality Department store of the era. The piece is lined in a combination of acetate and hemp cotton with a wide lapel and bracelet length sleeves. It is in absolutely beautiful vintage condition with no faults of any note.
