Genuine 1930s -1950s Ukrainian linen blouse and a good example that dates from either side of WWII. It is entirely hand embroidered in cross-stitch in a series of geometric and floral motifs in cornflower blue and sunshine yellow. The blouse has a gathered high neckline and raglan sleeves that are slightly fluted as they head towards the cuff which is embroidered and edged with a white crocheted trim. The blouse fastens with a blue and white braided cord and it has a very deep V opening at the front. It has a high waistband and the whole look is quite flared. The bottom hem is edged in a lace trim that we suspect was added a little bit later, possibly in the 1970s when it was shortened but it has been very nicely done. In overall very good vintage condition and will fit up to UK size 10 - US 6 as the shoulder measurement is slight.
