This is a sweet original 1950s shirtdress in the most darling rosebud print fabric with pencil style cross pattern sections. The dress is collarless with a deep V that leads to a button stand that fastens down the front of the dress. The short sleeves take a dolman style shape and the wide seamed waist band leads into a box pleated skirt. This design lends the dress such a lovely shape along with the horizontal rows of rosebuds that run around the skirt to enhance an hourglass figure. The dress is made from cotton and it has a hook & eye fastening at the waistband as well as the 8 front buttons. There is a tiny fabric labels that reads HIPS 44" BUST 42" making this a generous vintage size that should work up to a UK14-16 US10-12. Condition wise, this dress is in excellent vintage condition. The cotton is still fresh and in crisp white and the palest of blue, set off nicely with the black etching and rose motifs.
