He also worked extensively with silk taffeta during the 70s and 80s. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe condition is absolutely fabulous with no faults of any note - it looks barely worn. The silk has really retained its softness and lustre and the design is as sublime and beautiful as the day it was made. It would best fit sizes 6-10 UK, or 2-6 US, as there is some stretch to the waistband, as well as some movement in the hook closure which can be adjusted if necessary. Our model's sizes are: Bust: 34\" (87cm), Waist: 24\" (61cm), Hips: 34\" (86cm) and Height: 5' 4\" (164cm) and she's a size UK 4-6, US 0-2. The season’s mantra of “excessively lived simplicity” was exemplified by this incredible gown. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMade in France, it is tailored from floor-length plumes of chiffon that were hand dyed in Lyon in stripes of dark peach, sage green, black and cream that fade into each other with an ombré effect. At the waist, it is cinched by five drawstrings threaded by ombré dyed rope in hues that match the dress. These are knotted at each side of the waist and fall down the skirt, finishing at different lengths and each adorned with a tassel in a vibrant painterly tone. The straps are formed from the same ombre ropes, they form a drawstring through the neckline at the front and back. Again, playful tassels hang from the shoulder of these straps. The generously cut skirt kicks out as the wearer walks, with the sheer cloth and ombré dye adding a whimsical, festival feel that plays to Chloé’s reputation for bohemian luxury. This dress is fully lined in pale champagne silk. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe consider this dress to be contemporary archival quality.  It has already been acquired by the Palais Galliera which houses one of the finest fashion collections in the world at the Museum of Fashion of the City of Paris.  Condition wise, this gown is in excellent condition with no issues and we cannot see any evidence of wear although the designer label has been removed. It is made from 100% silk and labelled a French size 36, UK 8, or US 4.  Approximate measurements are below and the fabric has no stretch; we think this would also suit larger sizes due to the generously cut fabric. The ensemble is composed of a mod-style culottes dress and coordinating jacket. Beautifully crafted, the sleeveless dress is made from a thick cream wool with a nipped-in waist and A-line \"split skirt\" or \"divided skirt\" that falls to knee length. The waistband is shaped in a basque style at the front. The dress is unlined. The jacket is tailored from the same cream wool and trimmed with vibrant coral-red hued panels around the collar, along the front placket and across the welt pockets at the chest. The large plastic buttons are also in a tonal red hue. The jacket has a coordinating waist belt that plays to the 1960s feel with its oval shaped buckle. Lined in cream satin, it has in-seam pockets at the hips. The original label reads Chloé in black font on off-white satin. No other labels are present in the ensemble and the fabric has no stretch.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBoth wool pieces are in superb vintage condition and worthy of museum acquisition; or, one for the serious collector and wearer of important archive fashion. As with most garments of this age, the belt is showing signs of wear to the reverse which is lined in cream leather. There are faint marks to the wool edging on the belt and some separation of the fabric and leather at the very tip - in our opinion these are minor in nature. It can be worn as it is but some levels of preservation on the belt maybe required in the future.
