The main material is silk crepe in a pink - purple shade which is then embellished with knitted pastel coloured floral motifs and studded with little crystals and sequins.  The dress is empire waisted with a knitted inverted waist band and the straight skirt has an tiered asymmetric hemline. The inside of the jacket is lined with a luxuriously soft green grey silk, and the velvet itself is lovely and thick - a deep forest green shade, and of the highest quality. The skirt is made from the same velvet and cut in a classic pencil shape, with a left hand side zip fastening and hook and eye at the top. The front has four front seams which elongate the lower body, and the back is shaped beautifully in an almost fishtail-like design. \u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eJulien Macdonald joined Givenchy in 2001, replacing Alexander McQueen as artistic director.
