This arresting maxi dress is by Lydia Martin who was a licenced couturier of Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent designs for the affluent city of Marseille during the 1970s. Extensive research has drawn a blank on which licensed haute couture copy this is but the quality is irrefutably the same. An opulent bohemian look dress in a very fine quality ribbon silk crepe with an abstract floral design in pinks, green and white against a black background. The floral print increasing in size as the design travels the length of the dress. The bodice is shaped in a series of pin tucks and defined by a square neckline outlined in black with wide shoulder straps. From the waistband, the skirt flares out in pin tucks that gradually disperse at the hip line in a series of billowy folds. These also conceal the side zip fastening perfectly. In absolutely impeccable vintage condition with no flaws and would best suit up to a US size 4, UK size 8.
