This is a superbly executed and original early 1960s French made black silk crepe de chine feather dress. Of detailed construction and quality, sadly the label has been lost but it has clearly been executed to haute couture standards. The dress has wide straps, a gentle V neckline and is gently pleated towards the empire waistband. The waist is consolidated with a neat bow and reinforced band. The tulip style skirt section is made up of two layers - a straight shift skirt and then falling from the hip a partial over skirt finishing in a fantastic double row of shiny black ostrich feathers. The dress fastens to the rear with the original metal zip and poppers to conceal the bottom portion of the zip. The belt attaches with hook and eyes. The dress is lined in a black acetate and there is an additional grosgrain waist shaper. The dress is almost entirely made by hand and it is skilled work.
Will fit around a UK size 8-10 US size 4-6. It is in excellent vintage condition and there are no faults of any note.
