On trend late 1960s to early 1970s Ann Reeves and Co russet cotton prairie style dress. This is an immaculate vintage example from Ann Reeves which was a quality fashion brand in the 70s and 80s. This dress is the British equivalent of Gunne Sax when Victoriana fashions were all the rage and Biba and Laura Ashley labels were the coveted high street brands. The bodice of the dress has inverted black lace rows and a front buttoning shirt-waister style with black buttons and a high neck lace edged collar. There are dainty shoulder pads in the puff shoulders with a three quarter length lace edged sleeve. The dress is gently darted from the wide waist band and A-line with a deep flounce on the bottom hem to add movement and interest. It fastens to the rear with a concealed original zip. Overall the condition of the dress is very good to excellent with only very light signs of wear noted and no faults. The cotton is still fresh looking. The repeat pattern print is hard to decipher but it is made up of blue, green and ochre and reminds us of mini trees! The dress can be machine washed and is rather petite and best suited for a UK size 6, US 2 or extra small.
