It is tailored from liquid black silk-satin, it has a corseted bustier top, on top of which the fabric is gathered and pleated at the front of the gown. The skirt is generously cut to a wrap-around style, which forms a tulip shape around the wearer with a slit at the front. Inside, a boned corset falls to the waistband. It fastens at the rear with a gold-toned metal hook-and-eyes.
