The layered construction gives the flower depth, and at three inches long, it is a substantial piece. On the reverse, a plaque reads “Mitchel Maer for Christian Dior”, and a long C-clasp provides the fastening.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMitchel Maer created exquisite jewellery for Dior’s London branch during a short association between 1952 and 1956. An American working in England, he produced these pieces while Monsieur Dior himself was still at the head of the house and personally approving the designs.
