The trousers are cut to a high waist and fasten at the left hip with a hidden hook-and-eye and a tonal zip with fabric pull. They have a wide, straight silhouette. Both the top and trousers are lined throughout in dark aubergine silk-satin, as are the patch pockets. The labels on these couture-made pieces are exquisite; the words “Gaultier Paris” are woven into pale peach lace.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eModern haute couture garments are rare to market and both pieces are presented in excellent vintage condition with no issues. Inside, the elegant, pale pink lace Gaultier haute couture label is present and the dress fastens at the centre back with a hidden tonal zip and hook-and-eye clasp, alongside snap closures at the top of the skirt.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe dress, a rare example of early JPG couture, is verging on excellent archival condition. We noted a few, very well executed repairs to a couple of tears in the second skirt layer - not seen when worn. The fabric has no stretch and as it is couture, there are no size or composition labels.
