Embellished with violet and silver appliquéd lace and iridescent jewels, the floor-sweeping skirt is fully lined in off-white chiffon silk. The bust is lined with ruffled violet satin that peeps above the bustline. Coordinating embellished straps meet at the back and are secured by a pretty butterfly brooch detailed with rhinestones. The low-back is also trimmed with ruffled satin and is secured with a hidden pale-blue zip, hook-and-eye clasps and large poppers. Another butterfly brooch sits at the centre of the back. A padded cream corset lines the top of the gown, complete with intricate boning and elastic strap under the bust to secure it. The dress is accompanied by a full length shawl in matching violet chiffon.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA genuine one of a kind dress; this belonged to a lady who was a fabulously wealthy heiress and had all her clothes made for her. No expense was spared making this entirely handmade ensemble, undoubtedly designed for a grand special occasion and looks to have been worn once. In wonderful vintage condition; we noted a few tan marks on the straps at the rear on the underside so not seen when worn. The butterfly ornament in the centre has lost an antenna and has a slightly misshapen wing but in our opinion does not need replacing as its so minor. Due to being bespoke made, this piece doesn't have a composition or size label so please check the measurements below.
