According to the Vogue review, this collection was meant to emphasise the work of the Dior ateliers, showcasing the dressmaking skills of these 70 year old workshops. The dress has a retro silhouette with an elegant raised collar and flared angel-sleeves. Tailored from a fluid silk-jersey with a tiny bit of stretch, it is painted all over with a blown-up monochrome paisley in black and cream. This artistic, painterly pattern gives a psychedelic effect reminiscent of 1960s and 1970s designs. It fastens at the back of the neck with glossy black stone buttons and fabric loops, alongside a hidden zip and hook-and-eyes.
