Victorian Cream Silk Cape
Out of Stock
Beautiful cream silk cape dating from the 1880s consisting of stripes of silk ribbon and silk netting with an intricate corded and lace applique. There are no makers labels but this is an outstanding piece and was most likely originally a wedding cape. It is in good condition for something of this age with only a couple of small, barely noticeable marks on the outside and some damage to the netting underneath the collar. The cape is fully lined in a cream silk with has unfortunately shattered on the inside of the collar, see photographs. It fastens at the front with three hooks and eyes and is a real collectors piece.
