A very rare and pristine condition traditional Chinese rain coat consisting of both an apron skirt, cape and hat made entirely from palm tree and coconut fibres several layers thick. These raincoats were used by farmers, rice pickers and fishermen in southern China during the Qing Dynasty from 1644 to 1911.  This particular set was discovered in a locked trunk where it had laid for over 60 years and belonged to a family who travelled and lived in China throughout the 1920s and 1930s.  The set is robust and can be worn or displayed as a superb decorative or collector's piece.
