1960s D. Molho Demi Couture Evening Gown With A-Line Sequinned Skirt

This vibrant late 1960s early 1970s maxi dress with A-line sequinned skirt is by Parisian boutique D. Molho and is of super quality in excellent vintage condition. The short sleeved bodice is of black crepe and has a round neckline with darting either side of the bodice to accentuate the bust. The floor length A-line skirt is comprised of a thick, ribbed cotton printed with an exuberant floral design in green, orange, pink, brown and yellow tines over a black background. The surface of the fabric is completely embellished with transparent sequins sewn over the surface of the textile to create an iridescent aesthetic that shimmers when it catches the light. The skirt is lined with sateen fabric and there is a central zip fastening at the reverse. This unusual piece is wonderfully versatile and could be worn for both daytime and evening events with the correct accessories. Would fit up to a US size 6, UK size 10.
