HERMÈS

Hermès was established in 1837 and is today renowned for making high quality clothing, accessories and perfume. Thierry Hermès was an established harness maker who made fine wrought harnesses and bridles for the carriage trade from his workshop in Paris. His sons later took over the firm and, in 1922, their repertoire grew to include beautiful handbags. In By 1938 they had started making their legendary silk scarves which today remain highly coveted by royalty, celebrities and collectors. In 1984, Hermès introduced the Birkin bag, named after the actress and singer Jane Birkin, which remains an aspirational symbol of wealth to this day. This collection forms part of Circa’s designer archive, featuring archival vintage and museum-quality fashion pieces from the house of Hermès.
