1950s Aquamarine Textured Cotton Dress With Floral Rhinestone Applique

This enchanting late 1950s American prom style strapless dress in soft aquamarine textured cotton has a classic feminine aesthetic and is beautifully constructed to showcase an hourglass silhouette. The bodice has a sweetheart neckline and features some lovely appliqué embellishment whereby delicate lace daisies are secured over the bust with prong set crystal rhinestones in a 3D floral arrangement. The dress is comprised of a robust, textured 'waffle' cotton giving it great weight. There is boned support incorporated into the bodice to elevate the bust and skilful tailoring ensures the waistband draws in snugly before flaring out into a fun ankle length skirt. A layer of stiff netting is in place to reinforce the skirt for additional volume and buoyancy which complements the fairytale glamour of the piece. There is a concealed zip fastening on the left side. A really fun dress that reminds us of something Elizabeth Taylor wold have worn. In lovely vintage condition, this pretty dress is unlabelled and would best suit a US size 4-6, UK size 8-10.
