1960s Sambo Fashions Burgundy Oriental Jacquard Print Dress
This late 1950s or early 1960s Sambo Fashions dress has the perfect colour palette for autumn/winter dressing. It is cut from a luxurious soft burgundy satin jacquard fabric, with an almost raspberry pink hue to it, with a pale and dark green woven abstract rose print pattern. The woven rose print catches the light beautifully and has a shimmering gold effect in soft light.
The dress is very simply cut, with a wide boat neck and short cap sleeves, with a slightly dropped shoulder seam. It fastens down the left hand side with an original zip, concealed by a placket, and can be tightened at the back with a tie belt made from the same fabric. The seam detail to the front skirt and gathering of the rear waistband all help to create a beautiful, feminine silhouette, with a flattering nipped in waist. The dress is in excellent vintage condition with no issues and would best fit up to a size 10 UK, or 6 US.
