1950s Lime Green Silk Chiffon Beaded Dress
This exquisite late 1950s/ early 1960s silk chiffon dress in pale citrus green is a beautifully made piece of couture in immaculate vintage condition and although it is unlabelled we can confirm it is of British origin and of exceptional quality. The dress is sleeveless with a gentle scoop neckline and princess seams to shape the bodice. The full skirt is delicately gathered beneath the dainty waistline and the chiffon overlay floats out to below the knee with a lovely fluidity of movement. The neckline features a pretty beaded trim both front and reverse with tiny rocaille beads intricately arranged around large prong set crystal rhinestones to emulate daisy flowers. The dress is fully lined in sateen fabric and artfully hand finished with an interior gross grain waistband secured with a hook and eye to draw in the waist. There is a concealed zip fastening to the left side with a hook eye to secure at the top and some popper closures to fasten the overlay over the zip. This charming piece is wonderfully gamine and would be the perfect choice for chic formal wear. Would best suit a petite US size 0, UK size 4.
