1980s Lanvin Black Silk Chiffon Pleated Dress With Bow Embellishment

This gorgeous 1980s back silk chiffon dress is by celebrated Paris fashion house Lanvin and is a timeless piece in brilliant vintage condition. The thick silk chiffon fabric is arranged in a series of soft pleats and gathers to create a simple silhouette with a wonderful fluidity of movement. The dress features a V neckline, layered calf length skirt and a wide set gathered waistband with 3 x bow embellishments in a vertical descent at the centre. The opaque sleeves are tapered at the wrist with gathered fabric culminating in a bow on each cuff, and the fabric atop of each shoulder is gathered. The skirt is lined in black silk with 2 layers of chiffon overlay, the top layer falling open at the front. There is a concealed zip fastening at the centre reverse with a hook eye closure to secure. There are shoulder pads that could be removed if desired. This striking piece is deeply feminine with an ageless feel. Would fit around a size US 8 -10, UK size 12- 14. Just pure quality.
