1980s Mendicino Pink Green Zig-Zag Stripe Sequin Dress
products.product.pickup_availability.unavailable
Designed by Lila Broudé, Mendicino was a label that produced decadent evening gowns in the 1980s. The embellishment is outstanding - spotlight stealing zig-zags of violet, fuchsia pink and emerald green sequins coat the dress from head-to-toe. It is maxi-length with long, slim sleeves and a fitted silhouette. The graceful, wide boat-neckline at the front gives way to a sensuous low-back. The waist is finished with a voluminous satin bow formed from playful, clashing fuchsia and emerald green ties. The dress is lined with pink crepe throughout - except at the sleeves - and fastens at the back with a hidden zip and hook-and-eye. There is a slit at the back of the skirt for ease of movement.
This dress still has its original tags attached and, as such, is in excellent vintage condition. It has no size or composition labels so please check our measurements carefully. The fabric has some stretch so please allow for some flexibility on the below measurements. We think this is best suited for a size UK 6-8 or US 2.

What is archival fashion?
Archival fashion refers to historically significant designer garments preserved for their cultural, aesthetic, or technical importance. At Circa, archival fashion includes couture archive pieces, runway garments, early designer work, and museum-quality vintage that document the evolution of fashion history.
How is archival fashion different from vintage?
While vintage typically describes clothing over 20 years old, archival vintage is selected for its rarity, provenance, and relevance to a designer’s archive or fashion history. Circa specialises in archival pieces rather than general vintage.
