1920s Chinese Silk Embroidered Clutch Bag
This is an absolutely stunning silk clutch bag of Chinese origin dating from the 1920s. It consists of black silk background with very detailed, elaborate and vibrant embroidery depicting Chinese scenes, birds and floral motifs. Internally the bag is fully lined in ivory silk with an attached coin purse with clasp closure and a further two pockets on the sides. One of the cutest details in the bag is a internal mirror, attached with a lever so it can be pulled easily in and out. A fantastic piece in pristine condition, especially considering its age.
