1930s Ivory Satin Beaded Floral Clutch Bag
Original 1930s ivory satin clutch bag, possibly made for a bridal wear collection. This would have retailed in a very upmarket atelier or department store as the costliest fashions and accessories were made in France and this is no exception. An all-over embroidered floral crewel work design in green and blue with the outline and seam edging in silvered bead work. The curved flap design fastens with a pin socket closure. Inside, the satin lined purse has one internal slip pocket. The original satin covered mirror / coin purse is retained. The size is perfect for an iPhone and a few other small personal effects.
Condition is very good to excellent for an antique item of the art deco era. There is a very small number of bead loss but overall this still looks remarkably fresh. The gilt has worn to the outside edges of the pin closure but this is very well functioning and holds firmly shut. Of note is the satin lining which has numerous pen markings - we've show this in an additional non-studio photo. The mirror is foxed with a small smattering of markings to the satin cover.
MEASUREMENTS:
Width - 9.5 in (24.1 cm)
Height - 5.5 in (14 cm)
Depth - 2.5 in (6.6 cm)
