1970s Laura Ashley Made in Wales Floral Print Dress

Classic floral cotton shirtwaister dress by Laura Ashley with the early 1970s Made in Wales label. The print has an intricate repeat floral pattern featuring an array of native British flowers including roses, chrysanthemums and pansies in a mauve purple and white. The dress has a yoke and high neck collar which can also be turned down for a collared look. The front fastening button stand features seven faux mother of pearl buttons which reach to the low waist point for access. There is a neat waistband from which a gently gathered skirt flares out to around the mid-calf point. Two patch front-facing pockets complete the look.
Labelled a vintage size 14, this is better suited to modern sizes UK 10-12 or US 6-8. Great vintage condition with no issues although it must be noted that Laura Ashley dresses from this era had a muted colour palette. There is, what I would term as gentle 'wash fade' but not at all detracting from the look.
