1960s Louis Feraud for Rembrandt Yellow and White Linen Dress

This piece has been sold and is preserved here as part of the Circa Vintage archive. It is no longer available to purchase.

French fashion house Louis Féraud designed this pretty dress for high-end British store Rembrandt during the late 1960s. Made in England, it is crafted from linen in a vibrant yellow hue. The dress celebrates Feraud’s eye-for-detail in its adornments. It has a nipped-in waist and A-line skirt with two pleats at the front and falls to around knee length. The dress is trimmed with white linen and yellow stitching around the neckline, cuffs, placket, and chest pockets. The neck is collarless and tailored to a shallow V-shape with a button-down front. The buttons are crafted from silver-tone metal and are circular. Adorned with circles of yellow and white enamel, they recall the roundel target symbols used by the mod subculture during this era and the early 70s. Each pocket is finished with one of these buttons. Lined with cream satin woven with the brand name, there is a hidden tonal yellow zip at the front of the skirt for access.

In excellent vintage condition with no flaws of any note. Due to its age, it has no composition label. Labelled a vintage size UK 14 it is better suited in modern sizing to a UK 10-12 or US 6-8. The fabric has no stretch.
