2000s Chanel Purple Boucle Wool Skirt Suit

Timeless Chanel boucle wool skirt suit, in a lovely shade of aubergine purple from the pre-fall autumn / winter 2000 collection. The jacket has a classic pointed lapel and an asymmetrical front fastening, complete with three pewter coloured buttons emblazoned with the word 'Chanel'. The jacket has two false front pockets and a notch detail to each cuff which can be turned up or left straight. The soft purple lining is fine silk making it extra comfortable for the wearer while the inner hem is sewn in with a silver metal chain detail so that it hangs perfectly on the body.

The skirt is cut in an A-line shape, falling to around knee length, complete with a further two false pockets and a concealed rear zip fastening, topped off with a hook and eye closure. Just like the jacket, the skirt is also lined in purple silk, finished with a discreet dark metal double 'C' to the left hip. Both pieces are labelled a French 44 and this is a good fit for up to a UK 14 or US 10. Our model is around a UK 6-8 and this is pinned in places with the skirt sitting on the hip line rather than the waist line. Can be altered to fit with ease if desired.

In fantastic vintage condition - very gently worn with no visible wear or issues. We have attached an identical Chanel red jacket from a professional look-book as this exact suit was not featured on a pre-fall collection runway. However, this aubergine purple boucle wool did feature on several similar suits from the main fall runway collection which can be viewed on YouTube.
