1970s Gina Fratini Floral Smocked Maxi Dress

This is a very early 1970s labelled Gina Fratini smock dress in a psychedelic print featuring a repeat floral pattern interspersed with butterflies in orange and olive green tones. The bodice is almost entirely elasticated together with the gathered cuffs. The ankle length dress is made from a muslin cotton and is lined. A perfect choice as a transition piece or for cooler spring/summer days. In fabulous vintage condition with no issues and best fit for up to a UK 10-12 or US 6.

NOTES ON DESIGNER:

Gina Fratini was a British designer renowned during the 1970s and early 1980s for her romantic gowns which were of elaborate construction. She was a favourite of Princess Diana who wore her designs on several state occasions. Elizabeth Taylor famously chose a medieval style Gina Fratini gown for her second marriage to Richard Burton.
