1950s Christian Dior Brown Crystal Drop Earrings

Documented 1950s Christian Dior earrings featuring an assortment of glass crystals in smoky quartz and yellow topaz hues arranged in a floral setting with a larger tear-shaped drop stone. All stones are claw set into a rhodium plated silver base metal. Signed ‘Christian Dior’ in the signature oval cartouche to the reverse. These dazzling earrings form part of an impressive and early parure designed and approved when Monsieur Dior himself was the head designer of the illustrious fashion house.

As a long-term collector of early Christian Dior jewellery, I own this design in three other colourways: blue, multicoloured pastel and aquamarine. This design is documented in the book, Henkel & Grosse Pforzheim by Vivienne Becker and features on page 171 so these can be precisely dated to 1958. Made by the very famous Henkel and Grosse factory in Germany who since 1955 have had a long association with Christian Dior.

In perfect vintage condition and worthy of museum acquisition or one for the serious collector of fine costume jewellery. These pieces are increasingly scarce and difficult to source. This has been in my private collection for over 15 years. Measures approx 4cm at the longest length and approx 2.5cm at the widest point. I also have the matching necklace available separately.
