1968 Courreges Haute Couture Green Mod Dress

Documented 1960s Courreges haute couture green mod dress. Andre Courreges was already a fashion design superstar when this dress featured in Vogue in 1968 and the futuristic tailoring is synonymous with the designer who worked for Balenciaga during the previous decade.

Fabulous Peter Pan collar with stylised front patch pockets and a pretty scalloped hemline. This is a classic A-line mod shape with an additional buttoned waist shaper at the back. The zip is original to the dress and is a bespoke metallic colour to match the wonderful neon green heavyweight jersey wool. The dress is fully lined in a white silk and has the early French haute couture label.

Extraordinary vintage condition with just the faintest little pea-size mark near the front seam towards the hem. So faint that it wouldn't photograph in fact and not possible to see when worn. One for the connoisseur or collector of fine vintage fashion with the bonus of it being very wearable. Best fit for UK 8-10 or UK 4-6 and sizes smaller.
