1970s Kenneth Jay Lane Jewelled Gold Cuff
This showstopper of a cuff was designed by Kenneth Jay Lane in the 1970s. Kenneth Jay Lane, who began designing jewellery in 1963, was famously compared to Coco Chanel on a number of occasions for his popularisation of high quality costume jewellery. Designed to turn heads, it is crafted from gold-tone alloy to a chunky, wide silhouette with an abstract, organic surface. This bold cuff features six faux gems in assorted cuts and cabochons in cobalt-blue, tangerine, emerald-green, sapphire-blue, pale grey-blue and candy pink hues. The stamp on the rear reads “KJL" and a C in a circle so this can be dated accurately to the early 1970s and an early point in the designer's career. Weighty and extravagant, it would make a spectacular evening piece, perfect for a cocktail party or black tie event. One side of the cuff is hinged to allow for ease when putting it on the wrist.
This cuff is in excellent vintage condition with no flaws except for some very slight wear to the gold on the back - not evident when worn. Will fit small to medium size wrists.
