1970s John Charles Purple Jersey & Feather Trapeze Dress

This is a very striking and good quality example of exuberant 1970s fashion from renowned occasion wear designer John Charles. In a glorious shade of deep purple the dress has an inverted yoke and high neck with an oversized and wonderful trapeze shape body made from two large cuts of fabric. The delicate armholes have been edged in very fine purple ostrich feather trim. The dress has a gently machined frill bottom hem edge and fastens to the back with the original concealed zip. It is in wonderful vintage condition with no issues of any note. The polyester jersey is still supple and fresh looking with no pulls. Will fit a range of sizes due to the fluid nature of the design.
