1970s Yves Saint Laurent Red Faille Corset Top
Original 1970s faille corset top by Yves Saint Laurent, in a pillar box red colour with contrasting black trim. The design is fitted throughout the bodice and waist, with a slight flare at the hem to create a beautiful nipped in silhouette. The corset itself is lined in red, and the material has a lovely structured feel to it, with five matching red buttons going down the front.
The corset is in excellent vintage condition and has no visible faults or stains. Labelled a French 40, this is smaller than today's modern sizing and will fit up to a UK size 8 or US 4. Saint Laurent's pivotal 1976 Ballet Russes collection inspired the catwalk collections for several seasons following and we believe this is a slightly later piece dated to 1977.
