1988 Chanel Pastel Wool Fantasy Tweed CC Button Jacket
Fabulous Chanel blazer jacket from runway collection 18 which was spring / summer 1988. Made from a rainbow pastel checked boucle wool, the jacket is fully lined in soft cream silk, complete with immaculate tailoring. The deep v, collarless lapel falls to a central button stand with 4 x gilt double CC buttons. This design is also featured on the cuffs (3 x on each) and there is a button on each of the 4 x front facing pocket details that sit either side of the bust and hips. All pocket flaps, cuffs and hems are trimmed with a darker palette of black, brown and pastel checked trim which makes a pleasingly dramatic contrast.
Labelled a French 36, the jacket will accommodate up to a size UK 6-8, US 2-4. Excellent vintage condition; we note very slight discoloration only to the silk lining by the underarms. The tweed wool is faultless. A very similar jacket, from the same collection, is seen here being worn by the famous Chanel muse, Ines de la Fressange.
