1950s Lanvin Demi Couture Navy Embroidered Dress Suit

1950s Lanvin demi couture navy blue and black embroidered dress suit. This is a really special couture made ensemble, probably made to order, in a navy silk material that is extremely tactile. It has been all over embroidered by hand in a black abstract and floral repeat pattern. The dress is a classic shift cut with a beautiful seamed bodice, a scoop neck yoke and fastens to the side with the original metal zip. The matching jacket is a slightly boxy design with three-quarter length sleeves. The cuffs can be upturned or left as is. It has a frog closure fastening that has been handmade in a dyed grey cotton. Neither of the pieces are lined and it is a lovely lightweight ensemble. The label is retained in the jacket only. In fabulous vintage condition with no issues of any note and a best fit for around a size UK 10 or US 6.
