1960’s Macphail Couture Full-length Floral Cocktail Dress

This opulent 1960’s strapless silk blend evening gown from Macphail Couture has a simple, elegant line and is in lovely vintage condition. The dress features an abstracted poppy print in sugar pink, soft grey and black on an ivory background which although bold, doesn't not shout. The bodice has as sweetheart neckline and is embellished with pleated dusky pink chiffon, which follows the line of the bust and consolidates with a modest bow at the centre front. There is some corseting incorporated into the upper half of the bodice to elevate the bust to flattering effect. The dress is tailored to draw in gradually at the waist and fit snugly over the hip before falling into a straight floor length skirt with a split at the centre reverse for ease of movement. There is a concealed zip fastening at the centre reverse. Perfect for a wedding or summer ball, this romantic piece would best suit a US size 4, UK size 8.
