1960s Rappi Black Silk Taffeta Gown with Velvet Applique

This gorgeous full length, sleeveless ball gown by Rappi in black silk taffeta was made for New York department store Lord and Taylor. Dating from the late 50s/ early 60’s this beautiful vintage piece features black velvet ribbon down the sides and in a wide band around the hem of the skirt. It has a lovely curved low back on the beautifully cut bodice and the full skirt pleats into the fitted waist. It fastens at the centre reverse with a zip and is in excellent condition with no noticeable flaws. Would best suit a US size 0-2, UK size 6.
