1989 Yves Saint Laurent Black Velvet Jacket with Large Black Buttons

This elegant Yves Saint Laurent jacket is from the Rive Gauche Fall / Winter 1989 collection. Made in France, it is crafted from buttery soft black velvet. Showcasing the label’s tailoring know-how, it has a panelled construction and is cut to a relaxed silhouette with a slight nipped-in waist. It has a graceful rounded neckline and single-breasted closure - adorned with large flat high-shine black buttons which add a sculptural edge. Each cuff fastens with three of these large buttons too. It is finished with two patch pockets in the same rich velvet. This jacket is fully lined with inky black satin.

This highly wearable jacket is in excellent vintage condition with no flaws of any note and looks barely worn. It is made from 66% Viscose, 44% Cupro. The lining is 55% Acetate, 45% Cupro. It has no size label so please check the measurements closely. The fabric has no stretch. We suggest a good fit for sizes UK 10-12 or US 6-8 but it may work on a size bigger with close fitting garments underneath.
