ARCHIVE - 1960s Floral Block Print Swing Overcoat

£0.00 Sold out
This is a really unusual jacket of its time - an early ethnic style block print. We have only ever seen these duster coats as a solid colour and in a more formal style as part of dress suit. This design is very open and features a high button Peter Pan collar although the jacket has been photographed open. The fabric is like a lightweight composite blend - very possibly made up of wool and cotton. The block print is in warm earth tones - pinky reds and pale blues, greens and ochres. There are two deep front pockets and we love the way that they have lined up the pocket flap with the pattern so that they appear invisible when worn. The sleeves are gently tapered and the jacket has a a truly A-line look - so flattering when worn. This peice would look fantastic as a seasonal transition piece over informal wear such as jeans but could easily be worn as a more formal jacket due to the superb construction. The jacket is neatly lined in a peachy cream.

In absolutely beautiful vintage condition. The internal lining has one or two very minor and very small marks towards the bottom hem but these are inconsequential for a piece that is over 60 years old. They will never be seen and only mentioned for accuracy.

There are no makers labels but this is almost certainly made in America and of high quality manufacturing. It will fit a range of sizes up to UK 12 US 8.
