ARCHIVE - 1970s Jean Patou Beige Coat with Silk Trim

£0.00 Sold out
This is a very late 1960s or 1970 Jean Patou pale taupe coloured gabardine coat with the tailored in London label. It has a stylish double-cut lapel and striking geometric circular pattern silk twill trim that runs along all the edges. The fabric belt is also fashioned from silk and it lines the top of the patch pockets. Fully lined in a quality acetate, it fastens to the front at the waistline. This dress would have been designed when Michel Goma was the creative director of the house. He took over from Karl Lagerfeld in 1963 and was at the helm until 1970.

Condition wise, this is very good to excellent overall. There is the tiniest wear on the edge of the silk where one of the hooks and eyes that fastens the coat attaches to the waistband. There is a pinhead moth graze on the back just to the left of the shoulder dart. A few pinhead sized marks on the left sleeve. No issues on the front of the coat. It presents extremely well and all of these can only be seen with the coat in hand. Best fit for up to a UK 10-12 or or US 6-8.
