1990s Bespoke Pink Silk Maxi Dress with Rhinestones and Silver Lace
This fairy-tale 1990s bespoke gown is crafted from frothy, textured baby pink silk chiffon. Embellished halterneck straps meet at the front of the bust where it is finished with a silver appliqué flower smothered in glistening rhinestones. The body of the dress is ruched chiffon and secured with a hidden zip, hook-and-eye clasps and large poppers at the back. The top of the zip is covered with another silver appliqué flower. A padded cream corset lines the top of the gown, complete with intricate boning and elastic strap under the bust to secure it.
Embellished with pink and silver appliquéd lace panel inserts and iridescent jewels, the floor-sweeping skirt, composed of four layers, is fully lined in off-white satin with an additional viscose lining closest to the skin. The dress is accompanied by a full length shawl in matching baby pink chiffon, trimmed with silver lace and dotted with diamantés.
A genuine one of a kind dress; this belonged to a lady who was a fabulously wealthy heiress and had all her clothes made for her. No expense was spared making this entirely handmade ensemble, undoubtedly designed for a grand special occasion and looks to have been worn once. In wonderful vintage condition. Due to being bespoke made, this piece doesn't have a composition or size label so please check the measurements below. Our model's sizes are: Bust: 34" (87cm), Waist: 24" (61cm), Hips: 34.5" (88cm) and Height: 5' 7" (170cm). She's a size UK 6, US 2. It was slightly large on her so a best fit unaltered on a size UK 8-10 or US 4-6 max.

What is archival fashion?
Archival fashion refers to historically significant designer garments preserved for their cultural, aesthetic, or technical importance. At Circa, archival fashion includes couture archive pieces, runway garments, early designer work, and museum-quality vintage that document the evolution of fashion history.
How is archival fashion different from vintage?
While vintage typically describes clothing over 20 years old, archival vintage is selected for its rarity, provenance, and relevance to a designer’s archive or fashion history. Circa specialises in archival pieces rather than general vintage.
