ARCHIVE - Ossie Clark For Radley 1970s Trouser Set In Canary Yellow

£0.00 Sold out

This exuberant 1970s crepe trouser set in canary yellow by Ossie Clark for Radley showcases the designer's celebrated flare for flowing lines and desirable silhouettes. Both separates are in super condition and the colour has retained all of its vibrancy. There are beautiful features, most explicitly the futuristic off-centre button stand which runs over the left of the bodice hosting 15 x fabric covered buttons with thick loop fastenings. The fabric on the blouse flares from the waist over the hip like a peplum. The crew neckline fastens on the left and fabric at the shoulders and front yolk of the blouse is gathered to create a feminine aesthetic. Two ties either side at the centre reverse draw in the waist when fastened. The high waisted trousers are wide legged with a slight flare at the ankle and a zip fastening at the centre front. This striking piece is stylish, modern, and in excellent condition. Would best suit US size 0-2, UK size 6.

Ossie Clark was a highly influential British fashion designer in the 1960s. In 1965 he graduated from the Royal College of Art with a first class degree and immediately began selling his work in exclusive London boutiques including Alice Pollock’s Quorum. Here he created a collection with textile designer and soon to be mother of his children Celia Birtwell, one of the most famous collaborations in fashion history. Quorum was bought by Radley in the late 1960s which led to the ‘Ossie Clark for Radley’ label. Today, his distinctive dresses are highly sought after and admired by celebrities such as Kate Moss.
