1970s Fenno Sport Rainbow Cotton Patchwork Dress

£400.00

This striking colour block dress was designed by Fenno Sport in the 1970s. Fenno Sport was a Finnish textile and fashion brand that created high quality, boldly coloured graphic prints that were widely renowned. This dress is one of the most fun examples of Fenno’s ready-to-wear we’ve seen. Tailored from 100% cotton, it is printed with blown-up checkerboard squares in clashing rainbow hues. It has an oversized, cocooning fit with sleeves tailored to a voluminous ball-sleeve cut with ruffle-trimmed cuffs. The high neckline is collarless and buttons up with translucent square plastic buttons. The button placket is trimmed with a theatrical bib of coordinating ruffled cotton. The dress is unlined. It comes with a co-ordinating sash belt and we are so glad these two have stayed together all these years!

In excellent vintage condition with no issues - the colours still very vibrant. It is labelled a US size 8 but please double check the measurements below as this really will fit a wide range of sizes up to a UK size 14 or US 10 easily. Our model's sizes are: Bust: 37” (94cm), Waist: 31” (80cm), Hips: 45” (114cm) and Height: 5' 10.5" (180cm). She totally rocks this look!

What is archival fashion?

Archival fashion refers to historically significant designer garments preserved for their cultural, aesthetic, or technical importance. At Circa, archival fashion includes couture archive pieces, runway garments, early designer work, and museum-quality vintage that document the evolution of fashion history.

How is archival fashion different from vintage?

While vintage typically describes clothing over 20 years old, archival vintage is selected for its rarity, provenance, and relevance to a designer’s archive or fashion history. Circa specialises in archival pieces rather than general vintage.
