2017 Dolce and Gabbana Novelty Kitchen Print Dress with Elaborate Buttons
This dress was part of Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2017 collection and a dress in the same print with raffia detail walked the runway as look 26/93. Tailored from pale pink cotton, it showcases a novelty print of culinary utensils and accessories including painted porcelain, cutlery and cut-glass pitchers. The dress is cut to a very 1950s silhouette; it has thick straps which hold up the bodice and a nipped-in waist that gives way to a full skirt. The bust is lined in pale pink cotton and the skirt is unlined. The front of the dress is finished with chunky buttons that run the length of it. The elaborate buttons are crafted from yellow resin or enamel and gold-toned metal with red and blue glass droplets forming a flower shape. The straps and button plackets are also detailed with a chunky white running stitch. The dress fastens at the back with a hidden tonal zip with a silver-toned metal pull.
The dress is superbly made and in very good condition. We only noted a few of the central blue beads in the flower design of the buttons missing but these are very difficult to spot when worn. It is 100% Cotton with 100% Cotton lining. Labelled an Italian 42, UK 10 or US 8 and true to size in our opinion.
