2018 Elie Saab Documented Turquoise Lace and Silk Gown
This dress was designed as part of Elie Saab’s Resort 2018 collection (look 24 of 48). Of complex construction, it is tailored from a fluid silk-crepe in a vibrant aqua, seafoam-turquoise hue detailed with tonal lace across the bust and down the long sleeves. At the decolletage it is lined in beige crepe for modesty. The sleeves are finished with a contrasting lace at the cuff that has been further embellished with tonal ribbonwork. The cuffs and neckline are trimmed in crepe.
The bust of the dress is formed from crossing panels of turquoise crepe which loop around to the rear and tie at the back of the waist. From the bust down, the front of the dress is crafted from alternating panels of crepe and lace with ribbonwork detailing. The skirt has a high-low hemline with a floaty, flippy cut that swirls around the wearer’s legs and reveals them as they walk. Depending on the wearer’s height, the skirt may form a small train at the back. The back of the dress is built from turquoise crepe. It fastens with a hidden tonal zip and hook-and-eye clasp. The dress is lined with a beige mini-slip to the top of the skirt.
This dress is in excellent condition and is in its original branded dust bag direct from the original owner who wore it for just a few hours. It is crafted from a 67% Silk, 16% Polyamide, 11% Nylon, 3% Polyester, 3% Cotton blend. Labelled a French size 38, however, the waist is very small and this would better suit a UK 6-8 or US 2-4. The fabric has no stretch.

What is archival fashion?
Archival fashion refers to historically significant designer garments preserved for their cultural, aesthetic, or technical importance. At Circa, archival fashion includes couture archive pieces, runway garments, early designer work, and museum-quality vintage that document the evolution of fashion history.
How is archival fashion different from vintage?
While vintage typically describes clothing over 20 years old, archival vintage is selected for its rarity, provenance, and relevance to a designer’s archive or fashion history. Circa specialises in archival pieces rather than general vintage.
