Striking early 1960s dress with colourful freehand embroidery on blended silk, depicting flowers and leaves. The simple line scoop neck and burnished gold ribbon trim is balanced by the intricate detail of the skirt. This is embellished with beads, sequins and pearls on the floral element.
The silhouette of this dress is typical of the 1960s feminine style, nipping in at the waist which is playfully accentuated by the bow to the left hand side. The line sweeps gently at the back of the dress to reveal the contours of the upper back, followed by a full zip fastening to the waistline. There are no labels present, however, this piece is very well made, fully lined with careful attention to the construction and beautifully weighted at the hem. The dress is in excellent condition and would look spectacular with a full underskirt. Would suit U.S. size 2 - 4 or U.K. size 8.
