1984 Runway Documented Andre Laug Couture Black Sequin Dress
This sensational full length black lace sequin evening dress from Italian design Andre Laug exudes glamour and is guaranteed to turn heads! This striking piece is made of a rayon lace net with vertical stripes of black sequins throughout. The main body of the dress is lined in a fine layer of crepe fabric minus the sleeves which remain sheer. The dress is designed to slide easily over the contours of an hourglass figure, there is a shallow scoop neck, a slightly dropped waistline and the fabric over the midriff is strategically designed to create a subtle rushing effect to flatter the navel. There is a provocative slit over the front left of the dress culminating in an exotic ruffle detail over the top of the thigh. The fabric on the ruffle is reinforced at the hem to ensure the ruffle maintains its shape and buoyancy. There is a concealed zip fastening at the centre reverse. A very flattering and seductive dress in excellent condition with no noticeable flaws. Would fit US size 6, UK size 10 best.
This dress is from the Andre Laug archives and is the actual runway dress, shown here on the runway, the fit model would have been a UK size 8-10.
Circa has a number of Andre Laug pieces.

What is archival fashion?
Archival fashion refers to historically significant designer garments preserved for their cultural, aesthetic, or technical importance. At Circa, archival fashion includes couture archive pieces, runway garments, early designer work, and museum-quality vintage that document the evolution of fashion history.
How is archival fashion different from vintage?
While vintage typically describes clothing over 20 years old, archival vintage is selected for its rarity, provenance, and relevance to a designer’s archive or fashion history. Circa specialises in archival pieces rather than general vintage.
