This enchanting late 1960s early 1970s floral cotton tea dress is by celebrated British fashion house Laura Ashley and is a beautiful example of the designer's signature look. These Edwardian style dresses were the first true garments produced for this brand and have achieved classic design status over the years, with their nostalgic tailoring and antique inspired prints. This lovely piece is of thick cotton fabric printed with a delicate floral design in china blue over ivory, and has a high collared neckline, gathered shoulders, long sleeves fitted from the elbow and a floor sweeping skirt with a ruffle hem. The bodice and sleeves feature feminine pin tuck pleating with lace trim on the cuffs and there is a belt tie in matching fabric to draw in the was it if desired. There is a concealed zip fastening at the reverse of the dress and a button closure on each cuff. In excellent vintage condition, this beautiful dress has an elegant bohemian aesthetic and would fit up to US size 6, UK size 10.
