This dramatic 1970s draped silk jersey dress by Yuki for Rembrandt in deep rust is a striking example of designer Gnyuki Torimaru's trademark combination of structure and fluidity in a garment. Trained at the London College of Fashion during the 60s, Torimaru created his label in 1972 to specialise in draped jersey and monastic styles - Part of the label's late 70s diffusion line, this piece remains true to his vision. The extensive silk fabric of the dress is artfully gathered either side of the waist in order to sculpt the breast and hips. The round turtle neck paired with batwing sleeves is reminisant of art Deco bohemia and the soft folds of the floor - sweeping skirt creates elegant moment. The dress is in excellent condition and although the cut will effortlessly accommodate a variety of sizes, it would best suit UK size 10 - 12.
